Dan and I just returned from an early 24th wedding anniversary trip to Cedar Key, Florida.
(Disclaimer: We are not professional photographers like our daughter…even though we used her old camera.)
This was our first vacation without the kids. Of course, we took Posey with us.
If you’re looking for a laid back place to do nothing, this is the spot.
The people are so nice and welcoming. If you love to watch dolphins, as I do, you can find them here.
If you love to fish, then get your pole ready! But hold onto it. Dan lost one to something big!
If you want quiet water sports like kayaking and canoeing, this is the place.
The food was awesome and everyone seemed to take such pride in their establishments. Our favorite place was Ken’s Cedar Keyside Diner .
I think we’re going to save our pennies for a vacation home there.
Such great memories! Here are a few pics from our lazy time there.

Congrats on your 24th! Looks like you had a great time.
It was awesome!!! So quiet and peaceful.
Quiet and peaceful. Sounds wonderful. … When did life change? It used to be I would want to go on vacation to do something exciting. But now? A quiet and peaceful vacation sounds heavenly! (Probably has something to do with a hectic life! LOL!)
I totally agree. Gone are the days of wanting to see the local zoo, ride on a boat to an island to see dolphins. I just want to sit and stare at the ocean and drool!
A woman after my own heart! I love the ocean. Love walking the beach and just soaking in the warmth.
Oh, me too!!!! I hope you and your man can take a trip to the beach soon!
First off congrats on your 24th!!! What a blessing. Don and I LOVE LOVE LOVE to go to Cedar Key. It’s one of our favorite quick getaways living here in FL. The sunsets are just so beautiful, the peace and quiet is outstanding, and the seafood is ever so yummy over on the gulf coast. So glad you guys enjoyed it! Love ya ta bit! ~Janet~
Oh, another Cedar Key lover!!! Isn’t it lovely? I just hate that I’m allergic to seafood. I do love it so much.
Thanks for the congrats. This trip kind of came up by surprise and we decided to turn it into an anniversary trip. I never need an excuse for a romantic getaway. The book ideas were rolling through my head!
